Shanghai Pearl Tours

Angela McDonald, an American, has lived in Shanghai since 2002.  She was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio.  After graduating from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1994 she moved to North Carolina to pursue a career in finance.  Her and her husband's love of travel, culture and adventure led them to Australia in 1999.  In Sydney, she was a manager with a marketing company working closely with the Sydney 2000 Olympics.  She also spent time working for an investment bank in Sydney.  

In 2002, Angela moved with her family to Shanghai where she further  developed her love of fashion and design.  Traveling throughout Asia, Europe and Australia, Angela found many exquisite materials and styles which she used to create her beautiful designs for her friends and family back home in the United States, all of whom loved the look of her jewelry, the quality of the natural products and the reasonable prices!  The positive feedback from friends, the ability to bring high-quality jewelry to others at a great value and opportunity to help those in need, led Angela to start SoBello Jewelry in 2004.  Through SoBello, Angela sells pearls and other jewelry through trunk shows in the USA.

 In 2007, Angela received her Pearl Certification from The GIA, Gemological Institute of America.  Based on her extensive experience in Shanghai and especially in the pearl markets, she decided to start Shanghai Pearl Tours in 2008.
